Honorary Doctorate

Christian University of Southern Indiana welcomes the opportunity to receive recommendations and nominations of persons in the ministry who deserve the Special Recognition and Honor of receiving the Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree.

An honorary degree or a degree honoris causa (Latin:  "for the sake of the honor") is an academic degree for which a university (or other degree-awarding institution) has waived the usual requirements, such as matriculation, residence, stud and the passage of examinations.  The degree is typically a doctorate or, less commonly, a master's degree, and may be awarded to someone who has no prior connection with the academic institution.

Christian University of Southern Indiana welcoms the opportunity, as with most institutions of higher learning, does award Honorary Degrees.  CUofSI welcomes the opportunity to receive Recommendations and Nominations of persons in ministry who deserve the Special Recognition and Honor of receiving the Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree.  However, each applicant must meet the criteria established by the CUofSI Board of Regents/Trustees which will also be based upon their evaluation of information providd about the candidates.  The Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree will be conferred upon distinguished Pastors, Evangelists, Ministers, and other Christian Leaders or Public Servants who have made significant contributions in their respective fields or for the extension of God's Kingdom.

*CUofSI does not sell its Honorary Degrees, however there is a suggested donation amount of $2500.00.  All Honorary Degrees are awarded solely for the accomplishments and contributions that a person has made.*
